Abstract
This article examines the development of students’ critical thinking competence in German language classes. Critical thinking plays an essential role in modern education as it enables learners to analyze information, solve problems, and make reasoned decisions. The article discusses theoretical foundations and practical methods for fostering critical thinking in foreign language teaching, especially through debates, project-based learning, problem-based instruction, and role-playing activities.
