Abstract
This article analyzes the specific pedagogical and psychological features of the development of speech in children with mental retardation in inclusive education. Difficulties in the formation of phonetic, lexical and grammatical aspects of speech in students with mental retardation and their impact on the educational process are highlighted. Also, correctional and pedagogical approaches aimed at developing communicative competence, expanding vocabulary, improving coherent speech and ensuring social adaptation of this category of children in an inclusive education environment are considered. The results of the study serve to substantiate the effectiveness of innovative methods and individual approaches supporting speech development.
