Abstract
This article studies the potential for biogas production in Uzbekistan, existing raw materials resources and prospects for the development of this sector. It is noted that organic waste generated as a result of livestock, poultry and agricultural activities in the country serves as an important source for biogas production. The possibilities of reducing the negative impact on the environment, effectively using energy resources and expanding the production of organic fertilizers through the use of biogas technologies are highlighted. The state-implemented programs and projects for the development of renewable energy sources are also considered. The results of the study show that the development of biogas production provides not only economic efficiency, but also environmental sustainability.
