Abstract

This article analyzes the complexity of relationships between fathers and children, issues of love and responsibility, as well as betrayal and tragic outcomes, based on two important works of world literature — “Father Goriot” and “King Lear”. The works are examined using a comparative approach, revealing how the image of the father is interpreted in different social contexts.
