Abstract
This article analyzes the normative legal documents related to the protection of prisoners’ rights. It highlights the norms established in the national legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the Constitution, the Criminal-Executive Code, and other relevant legal acts. In addition, the study examines the significance of international instruments, particularly the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners (the Nelson Mandela Rules) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in this field. The article discusses the fundamental rights of prisoners, the mechanisms for ensuring these rights, and the reforms being implemented in this area. It also analyzes their role in the social reintegration of prisoners into society.
