Abstract
The oxidation of aromatic compounds is one of the important methods for synthesizing new organic substances. Benzolketocarboxylic acid (phenylglyoxylic acid, C₆H₅COCOOH) is an important intermediate compound in organic synthesis, and its derivatives are characterized by the presence of various functional groups. The aim of this study is to investigate the oxidation process in the presence of potassium permanganate and evaluate the possibility of isolating benzolketocarboxylic acid.
