Abstract

The article explores ways of creating an environment of real intercultural communication in English classes using digital tools – social media, podcasts, virtual reality and AI-based conversational agents. Drawing on international experience, the functions of five tool groups are revealed, and a four-step learning cycle is proposed (input and noticing – joint analysis – interaction and simulation – reflection and product). Five conditions of use, selection criteria and limitations are shown, along with resource-efficient solutions adapted to Uzbekistan: browser-based tools and offline alternatives.
