Abstract

This article examines the importance of vocabulary instruction in primary school reading lessons for improving students' comprehension of texts. It discusses effective methods of explaining unfamiliar words, expanding vocabulary, and encouraging the active use of new lexical items in oral and written communication. The study also highlights the role of vocabulary development in enhancing reading comprehension, coherent speech, independent thinking, and communicative competence.
