Abstract
This article analyzes the application of ecologically clean and biodegradable fabrics in the textile industry, their production technology, environmental impact, and economic aspects. In the modern world, the textile industry is considered one of the sectors consuming the largest amount of water resources and causing chemical pollution; therefore, the demand for ecological materials such as organic cotton, bamboo fiber, flax, hemp, tencel (lyocell), and recycled polyester is increasing every year. The article presents statistical data from global and Uzbek practice, environmental certification systems (such as GOTS, OEKO-TEX, and the Global Recycled Standard), as well as proposals for developing the “green” textile direction. The research results show that ecological fabrics are of great importance not only for environmental protection but also for increasing product competitiveness, expanding export potential, and strengthening consumer trust.
