Abstract
The article covers the theoretical and methodological aspects of organizing practical training in sewing women’s clothing on the basis of a competency-based approach in the vocational education system. The essence of the concepts of competence and competency, the structure of professional competencies of a seamstress (technological, design, materials science, quality control, workplace organization) are analyzed. The methodology of step-by-step formation of competencies in the practice of sewing women’s light clothing (dress, skirt, blouse), modular training, practice-oriented situational tasks and criteria-based assessment technologies are revealed. Special attention is paid to the specific features of forming professional competencies in students with disabilities.
