Abstract
Student engagement is a crucial factor in the effectiveness of English language teaching and learning. Engaged students are more likely to participate actively in classroom activities, develop language skills, and achieve better academic outcomes. This article examines various strategies for increasing student engagement in English lessons, including interactive teaching methods, collaborative learning, gamification, and the integration of digital technologies. The study highlights the importance of creating a learner-centered environment that encourages communication, critical thinking, and active participation. Furthermore, the article discusses the role of teachers in motivating students and adapting instructional practices to meet diverse learning needs. The findings suggest that the implementation of innovative teaching strategies can significantly enhance student motivation, participation, and overall language proficiency.
