Abstract

The pharmaceutical industry operates within highly complex and globally interconnected supply chains that are increasingly exposed to disruptions caused by geopolitical instability, pandemics, transportation bottlenecks, supplier failures, and regulatory changes. As a result, these challenges have emphasized the importance of supply chain resilience as a critical capability for ensuring uninterrupted access to medicines and maintaining operational continuity. At the same time, rapid digital transformation has created new opportunities for pharmaceutical companies to improve visibility, flexibility, and responsiveness across supply chain processes.

This paper examines the theoretical foundations of supply chain resilience and explores the role of digital supply chain technologies in strengthening pharmaceutical supply chain performance. In particular, the study reviews key concepts, dimensions, and determinants of resilient supply chains and analyzes the impact of digital technologies such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, and Cloud Computing. Particular attention is given to the pharmaceutical industry and the challenges faced by emerging economies, including Uzbekistan.

The findings indicate that digital technologies significantly improve demand forecasting, inventory management, traceability, risk monitoring, and decision-making capabilities. Therefore, the paper concludes that the successful implementation of digital supply chain solutions can enhance resilience, reduce operational risks, and improve the competitiveness of pharmaceutical enterprises in Uzbekistan.
