Abstract

This study employs econometric methods to quantify the effects of internet penetration and inflation on the share of agriculture, forestry, and fishing in gross domestic product (GDP), drawing on a panel dataset of 56 observations spanning 2011–2024. Results from Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression with multicollinearity diagnostics indicate that a one-percentage-point increase in internet users is associated with an approximately 0.246 percentage point reduction in agricultural GDP share, significant at the 0.1% level (p < 0.001). Inflation exerts a marginally significant positive effect of 0.387 percentage points (p = 0.050). The model explains 51.5% of the variance in agricultural GDP share (R² = 0.5153), and Variance Inflation Factors (VIF = 1.13) confirm the absence of multicollinearity. These findings underscore the structural role of digital transformation in reshaping sectoral economic composition and carry important implications for agricultural diversification and digitalization policy.
