Abstract
This thesis analyzes the artistic interpretation of modernism in contemporary Uzbek short stories, its specific features, and its role in national literature. It demonstrates how writers strive to express a person’s inner spiritual experiences through the modernist approach, using stream of consciousness, symbolism, and individual thinking. It also substantiates that in contemporary short stories, traditional realism is being replaced by new artistic explorations.
