Abstract
This article provides a comparative linguocultural analysis of paremes — proverbs, sayings, and aphoristic expressions — in English and Uzbek languages. The research focuses on the reflection of national values, cultural worldview, mentality, and ethnic identity within paremiological units. The study also identifies universal and culture-specific semantic layers in the paremiological systems of both languages and explains their linguocultural significance. Comparative-typological, contrastive, and linguocultural methods were applied, and more than 250 paremic units were analyzed. The findings reveal that alongside universal human values, both English and Uzbek paremiologies contain distinctive linguocultural features representing national mentality and cultural environment.
