Abstract

This article analyzes the importance of a multipolar world and multilateral relations in the modern international system. It emphasizes the significance of multilateral cooperation among states in the era of globalization and multipolarity. As interactions between countries in global politics and the economy continue to strengthen, the article explores the role of multilateral relations in areas such as global cooperation, trade, security, culture, and the environment. It also discusses how the patterns of rising powers in the first quarter of the 21st century differ from those in past historical periods. These differences are reflected in the larger number of states considered global powers, the prioritization of the economic dimension of power, and the broader and more transparent institutionalization (i.e., cooperation through international organizations and systems). The article highlights the importance of multilateral diplomacy in contemporary world politics and its impact on international cooperation and sustainable development.
