Abstract

This paper provides an in-depth analysis of the scientific and pedagogical foundations, mechanisms, and effectiveness of developing analytical and critical thinking skills among students through the use of media products, including mass media, video and audio materials, social media content, documentary films, advertising, and news resources within the modern education system. In the context of accelerated information flow, rapid digital transformation, and the growing spread of fake news, the study emphasizes the importance of fostering learners’ abilities in critical analysis, information selection, detection of manipulation, and multi-source evaluation. Drawing on constructivist theory, cognitive pedagogy, and media literacy models, the research examines how integrating media products into the educational process enhances cognitive engagement, promotes critical thinking, and increases civic responsibility among learners. Taking into account the national characteristics of Uzbekistan’s education system, digital disparities, and challenges related to teacher preparedness, practical recommendations are proposed. The findings confirm the strategic role of media tools in improving the quality and effectiveness of modern education.
