Abstract
Physical activity is a key factor that exerts multifaceted positive effects on the health and psychological state of student youth. This article provides an in-depth analysis of the physiological effects of physical exercises on the cardiovascular-respiratory system, musculoskeletal apparatus, metabolic processes, and immune system. At the same time, the mechanisms of reducing depression, anxiety, and chronic stress levels, as well as improving cognitive functions and enhancing emotional stability through neurotransmitters and neurotrophic factors such as endorphins, serotonin, dopamine, and BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) are examined based on scientific evidence. Against the background of the specific characteristics of student life — high intellectual workload, sleep disturbances, difficulties in social adaptation, and sedentary lifestyle — the role of regular physical activity in improving academic success, psychological resilience, and overall quality of life is thoroughly analyzed. The article evaluates physical activity as an effective, economically accessible, and practical strategy for maintaining and strengthening students’ health and provides practical recommendations for higher education institutions.
