Abstract
The article examines methods for developing linguistic skills in 8th-9th grade students based on Language for Specific Purposes (LSP). A comparative analysis of Uzbekistan's new-generation textbooks and international practices (PISA) is conducted, proving the effectiveness of integrating language teaching with professional contexts. Methodological recommendations for improving students' functional literacy are provided in the conclusion.
