Abstract
This study investigates the cognitive and linguocultural features of family and kinship metaphors in English discourse. The research is based on Conceptual Metaphor Theory and cultural linguistics. The analysis focuses on how metaphorical expressions reflect cultural values, social relations, and cognitive models related to family and kinship. The findings show that English family metaphors mainly represent functional, individual-oriented, and socially structured conceptualizations. The study also confirms that metaphor functions as both a cognitive and cultural mechanism in discourse.
