Abstract

The paper reviews the pathogenetic rationale for using inhaled glucocorticosteroids (ICS) as the "gold standard" for controlling inflammation in pediatric asthma. It analyzes their impact on reducing bronchial hyperresponsiveness, preventing exacerbations, and the risk of irreversible changes in lung function.
