ANATOMICAL, MORPHOLOGICAL, AND BIOECOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE EUROPEAN GARDEN SPIDER (ARANEUS DIADEMATUS) IN THE FAUNA OF UZBEKISTAN

Abstract

This thesis presents a systematic analysis of the external and internal anatomical structure, reproductive system, reproductive biology, annual ontogenesis, and hunting strategy of the European garden spider (Araneus diadematus), a species widely distributed in the forest and garden biotopes of Uzbekistan and recognized as a model species in scientific research. The study highlights the characteristics of sexual dimorphism, the sensory functions of the locomotor apparatus, cocoon-building mechanisms, and the species’ significance as a biological regulator in agroecosystems. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the ecological and biological role of Araneus diadematus within natural and agricultural environments.
