Abstract

This article analyzes the views of the great thinker Abu Nasr al-Farabi on the human factor based on his philosophical, socio-political, and ethical teachings. The study examines the concepts presented in al-Farabi’s works such as The Virtuous City, On the Attainment of Happiness, and On the Meanings of Intellect, focusing on the role of human beings in society, the ideal of the perfect person, the significance of knowledge and enlightenment, and issues of moral perfection. Furthermore, the article explores the thinker’s assessment of human beings as the principal driving force of social development and analyzes the role of knowledgeable and virtuous individuals in state governance and social life. The study also highlights al-Farabi’s views on intellectual and spiritual development, the paths to achieving happiness, and the importance of forming a virtuous society. The article scientifically substantiates the humanitarian ideas of al-Farabi and their theoretical as well as practical significance for the development of contemporary society.
