ENHANCING STUDENTS’ SPIRITUAL AND LINGUISTIC DEVELOPMENT THROUGH ALISHER NAVOI’S WORKS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLASSES

Abstract

This article explores the use of the works of Alisher Navoi in English language classes as a means of enhancing students’ linguistic and spiritual development. The study examines the educational and moral significance of Navoi’s literary heritage, the role of literary texts in foreign language teaching, and methods for integrating such works into the learning process. The article also highlights the effectiveness of teaching methods such as translation and discussion-based learning in improving students’ vocabulary, grammatical knowledge, reading, writing, and speaking skills. Furthermore, it emphasizes that studying the spiritual and ethical ideas reflected in Navoi’s works helps foster respect for national values, humanism, and independent thinking among students. As a result, the study demonstrates that this approach can make the educational process more effective from both linguistic and moral perspectives.
