Abstract
This scientific article presents a comparative analysis of Uzbek and Kazakh bakhshi traditions, including their historical formation, performance features, epic repertoire, and cultural functions. The study examines the common and distinctive characteristics of the two nations’ epic traditions from folkloristic and cultural perspectives. It also highlights the role of bakhshi art in shaping national identity, its transformation in modern cultural processes, and its prospects under globalization. The findings demonstrate that Uzbek and Kazakh bakhshi traditions are significant components of the common Turkic epic heritage.
