Abstract

The article analyzes the theoretical foundations of labor productivity, its economic essence, and measurement indicators. Labor productivity is considered a decisive factor in ensuring sustainable economic development, increasing enterprise competitiveness, and improving the welfare of the population. The research uses natural and value-based indicators for assessing labor productivity, as well as important economic indicators such as labor intensity. The article also highlights that the economic reforms implemented in Uzbekistan during the years of independence created opportunities for increasing labor efficiency in society. However, a number of problems that hinder the growth of labor productivity still remain. The successful resolution of these issues would further enhance labor efficiency in enterprises and organizations.
