Abstract
Writing is a fundamental skill in English language learning. Traditionally, writing instruction focused on grammar and accuracy, often neglecting creativity, communication, and critical thinking. Modern methods, however, emphasize learner-centered practices that focus on the process of writing and the understanding of text types. Two of the most effective methods are the process-based method, which treats writing as a multi-step, reflective activity, and the genre-based method, which teaches students to write according to the purpose, audience, and structure of various texts. This paper discusses these methods, their benefits, classroom applications, and integration, providing insights for improving writing instruction in English classrooms (Brown, 2007; Harmer, 2004).
