Abstract
This article examines the comparative typology of the number category of nouns in the Russian and Uzbek languages. The methods of comparison are as follows: in the Uzbek language, the concept of the category of number differs significantly from that in the Russian language. In Uzbek, there are generally no nouns that exist only in singular form or only in plural form.
