Abstract
This article analyzes the interpretation of the image of the creator in Uzbek literature based on distinctive examples of the essay genre — Shukur Kholmirzayev’s essays and the essays included in Khurshid Davron’s book “Ancient Songs.” The study explores the creator’s inner world, his attitude toward historical figures, and the issues of spiritual continuity between generations through a literary-psychological approach within the essay genre. In particular, examples are drawn from Shukur Kholmirzayev’s essays “Travel Notes” and “Roads, Companions,” as well as from the chapters “Shaybaninama” and “In Search of Babur” in Khurshid Davron’s “Ancient Songs.” The analysis applies close reading and verse-by-verse interpretation based on lexical examination. The study reveals the possibilities of the essay genre in uncovering the creator’s psyche in Uzbek literature, presents a modern perspective on historical figures, and examines the harmony between documentary elements and artistic expression.
